As I walk briskly through life with open eyes and mind, observing all, experiencing much, and embracing the excellent... ~Andante

I've finally come to the conclusion within myself (why it took so long, I'll never know) that this journal will never be a complete, or even accurate picture of myself. I've given up trying. Aside from all my skewed perceptions, the tendency to not admit when I'm wrong, and the propensity for being emotional... this is who I am. Instead of trophies on my mantle, I collect mistakes. I am an idealist. I'd love to learn how to lie so that people believe me. Don't believe me when I say I don't care. I'll never wipe the mascara away just so you won't see the tear streaks. I'm in the habit of drinking too much coffee and forgetting that I'm supposed to be self-conscious. Don't admire me for my honesty; why would raw pain be something to paste up onto pedestals?

I'm 24 years old, pursuing an on-hold M.Ed in Community Counseling at University of Tennessee. I'm currently living in Wuhan, China teaching first grade at an international school.

I love to sing, act, be crazy, read, write, ponder, take pictures, go on long walks in the park, twirl in the rain and just be. Future plans include meeting a beautiful man, loving God with my whole heart, and taking over the world one Starbucks coffee cup at a time.
i'm in gryffindor!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
